I’m a hopeless ramen-tic 🍜🥰
Ramen is one of my favourite cold-weather comfort foods! This Vegetarian Ramen from kintonramen is made with a delicious vegetarian broth and is packed with seasoned vegetables and tofu nuggets 🙌🏼
It is important to remember that ramen broth and noodles are often very high in sodium, especially if purchased at a restaurant. Sodium, which is the main ingredient in salt, is needed by our bodies in certain amounts. It is recommended that individuals eat between 1000-1500 mg of sodium per day. Consuming too much sodium (above ~2300 mg per day) can lead to health problems like high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, and kidney disease. Even if you don’t have high blood pressure, you can still benefit from lowering the amount of sodium you eat.
✨PRO TIPS: For those who are dining out and watching their sodium intake, I would recommend for them to make a few changes to their bowl, including: asking for a light broth (if available), asking for less broth, and/or adding vegetables to their ramen. If you’re a ramen fanatic, you may want to consider occasionally preparing ramen at home in order to control the sodium content.
